It has long been company policy to purchase whatever software
we need to get a job done, provided the size of the job justifies
the investment ...
Increased
productivity using translation tools
We've made a considerable investment in the TRADOS translator's
workbench. While it isn't machine translation software as
such, which still produces 'interesting' results, TRADOS 'remembers'
sentences and phrases that have already been translated from
one language into another and automatically offers to insert
the translation when it comes across a similar source-language
sentence. This ensures consistency both within and across
documents, and results in lower costs and effort as the size
of the translation memory increases. In addition to the European
languages, the system also supports Cyrillic, Asian and Oriental
ones.
Supported by a powerful terminology management package, TRADOS
eliminates one of the biggest headaches in technical translating,
namely how to ensure consistency of terms and phraseology.
The software does not replace the human translator. It's an
important tool which assists the translator by reducing the
amount of searching and repetitive work, permitting the translator
to concentrate on the detail in the text.
Another powerful feature enables us to 'align' material from
previous projects, giving us the ability to recover the treasure-trove
of existing translations and 'recycle' it in future translations.
If you have some existing matching source/target language
files, email them to us and we'll create your first translation
database for you in time for your next project!
If you then send us your next job in electronic form (email,
modem or diskette), we'll translate it using TRADOS. You'll
benefit from guaranteed consistency, faster turnaround and
lower costs!
